The Ember Noise user guide

These pages describe the current pre-release builds in reading order. The changelog lists what changed in the current TestFlight. Start at the top if you are new to Ember Noise, or open the page for the feature you are using.

1. Getting started with Ember Noise

   Open Ember Noise, follow the optional Welcome tour, press play, and shape your first four-sound blend.

2. Install an Ember pack

   Step-by-step help for downloading, opening, verifying, and listening to an Ember sound pack on iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

3. The matrix mixer

   How the four-corner blend matrix works: bilinear mixing, corner sounds, and reading the ember's position.

4. White, pink & brown noise and EQ

   Explore 24 offline sounds, including white, pink, and brown noise; import and loop your own audio; and shape each sound with three-band parametric EQ.

5. Presets & automation

   Use 12 factory starting points, organize saved mixes, and draw automation paths that move the ember over time.

6. Stop timers

   Set quick or custom sleep timers, pin favorite lengths, follow the countdown, and understand the final fade.

7. Send to Device

   Move a preset and its imported sounds directly to another device over your local network with end-to-end encryption.

8. Ambient sound mixer for Mac

   Use Ember Noise as a native ambient sound mixer and white noise app for Mac, with a resizable window, menu-bar controls, media keys, and launch-at-login.

9. Command-line tool (Mac)

   Install the bundled embernoise helper on PATH so agents and advanced users can drive the Mac app from Terminal.

10. Learning, tips & problem reports

    Replay Welcome, work through seven focused lessons plus a Mac companion tour, browse practical tips, and review diagnostic reports before sending.
