The Ember Noise user guide

Everything the app does, in reading order. Start at the top if you're new; each page stands alone if you're not.

  1. Getting started with Ember Noise

Open the app, press play, and drag the ember — the two-minute introduction to mixing your first noise blend.

  2. The matrix mixer

How the four-corner blend matrix works: bilinear mixing, corner sounds, and reading the ember's position.

  3. Sounds, imports & per-sound EQ

The ten built-in sounds, importing your own audio, and shaping any sound with the three-band parametric EQ.

  4. Presets & automation

Save blends as named presets, recall them in a tap, and let automation drift the mix while you sleep.

  5. Stop timers

Wind playback down automatically after you fall asleep — timers, saved timer presets, and how the fade behaves.

  6. Send to Device

Move a preset — including its imported sounds — directly to another of your devices over the local network, end-to-end encrypted, with no account and no cloud.

  7. Ember Noise on Mac

The native Mac app: the landscape mixer in a window, a menu-bar controller, media keys, and launch-at-login.
