Sounds, imports & per-sound EQ
The built-in library
Ember Noise ships with ten sounds, in two families:
- Generated from scratch — White Noise, Pink Noise, Brown Noise. These are synthesized, not recordings, so they loop with mathematical perfection.
- Bundled ambient loops — Rain, Train, Crickets, Ocean, Wind, Fire, and Rings of Neptune, each voiced to loop without an audible seam.
Everything is on-device. Nothing streams from a server, so the full library works in airplane mode.
Importing your own sounds
The sound picker’s Import from Files accepts any Apple-decodable audio file. Long files are streamed rather than loaded whole, so an hour-long field recording works as a corner sound without ballooning memory. Imported sounds get loop shaping — you control how the loop seam behaves, and can preview the seam in isolation before committing.
The per-sound EQ
Every sound — built-in or imported — carries its own three-band parametric EQ:
- Low shelf, mid bell, and high shelf, each with frequency, gain, and Q controls.
- A live response curve you can shape by dragging the L/M/H nodes directly, from 40 Hz to 12 kHz.
- Solo preview, which isolates the sound you’re shaping so you can hear the EQ without the rest of the blend.
- A bypass toggle, so you can A/B your curve against the untouched sound.
EQ settings are saved per sound and included in presets, so a mellowed-out White Noise in one preset doesn’t affect the bright one you use elsewhere.
